Discover the beauty of Africa’s most exclusive golf and fly-fishing resort.
Highland Gate is situated in the rolling hills outside South Africa’s fly-fishing capital, Dullstroom and is only 2½ hours drive from Johannesburg. This notorious little village is nestled in the Steenkampsberg mountain range, just over 2000m above sea level. It has a sub-alpine climate with cool winters and mild summers.
Dullstroom offers excellent still water and river fishing opportunities for both Rainbow and Brown Trout. For the non-fisher, Dullstroom is a shopper’s delight and provides an assortment of quaint shopping nodes on the main road.
Highland Gate Golf & Trout Estate is situated some 9km east of Dullstroom overlooking the Kwena Basin Conservancy. The Estate is 700 hectare in extent, with the Kareekraal and Valyspruit Rivers joining boundaries before going over a 125m waterfall to join the Crocodile River. The estate is developing a championship Ernie Els Signature 18-hole golf course and driving range, that will not only serve the golfers, but will also become the Community Centre for the Estate.
A Wellness & Equestrian Center and a network of eco-trails for hiking, horse riding and mountain biking ensure complete enjoyment of natural beauty of the estate |
